He will speak in Syracuse as part of the Gifford Author Series. His most recent book, "Begin Again: James Baldwin’s America and Its Urgent Lessons for Our Own," acknowledges Baldwin’s inspiration, instruction and guidance on matters of race. He frequently appears in the media, as a columnist for TIME Magazine and as an MSNBC contributor. 

Elder Fraud Seminar

DeWitt Town Hall 5400 Butternut Dr., East Syracuse, NY, United States

Residents in California, Texas, Florida and New York filed the largest number of fraud complaints by older Americans. An FBI Special Agent, as well as representatives from the U.S. Attorney’s office, will give a presentation on how to better protect seniors from falling victim to fraud. The presentation will teach attendees how to recognize potential criminal schemes, what to do if you or a loved one has fallen victim to a fraudulent scam and where to go for additional information. Light refreshments will be provided. Seminars will be held in the Activity Room at the DeWitt Town Hall.

Several meetings have been scheduled to provide opportunities for residents to ask questions as well as provide input and information on their desires regarding political boundaries.
