Dr. Eddie S. Glaude Jr. is a New York Times bestseller, whose writings examine the difficulties of race in America, combining history, philosophy, religion and a passion for social justice. He will speak in Syracuse as part of the Gifford Author Series. His most recent book, “Begin Again: James Baldwin’s America and Its Urgent Lessons for Our Own,” acknowledges Baldwin’s inspiration, instruction and guidance on matters of race. He frequently appears in the media, as a columnist for TIME Magazine and as an MSNBC contributor.
