A Pocketful of Progress: A Retrospective Look at the Machines Found in our Smartphones opens 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3, downtown at the Onondaga Historical Museum. The exhibit displays machines from the past 150 years which performed functions that, today, can be done on a smartphone. The array of machines, many which originated right here in Syracuse, offer a stark juxtaposition to the incredible technological tool you carry every day in your purse or in your pocket. The World-Famous Harlem Globetrotters will bring its newly re-imagined Spread Game tour to Syracuse, featuring ankle-breaking moves, jaw-dropping swag and rim-rattling dunks. Part streetball from the players who defined it, part interactive family entertainment, the new tour will show off the best of the Globetrotters in a dazzling exhibition of talent and game.

The Tomorrow's Neighborhoods Today South Side sector will hold a virtual community meeting at 6 p.m. Feb. 7. This Zoom presentation will explore the importance of art expression to mental health. Arthur Brangman, an art therapist and rehab counselor at Hutchings Psychiatric Center, will share how to use art as a form of expression to help manage mental and emotional well-being, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
