The Q Center at ACR Health will host a virtual vigil providing support and understanding for Anti-Transgender violence exhibited in 2021. This virtual vigil will serve the nine-county service areas which include Onondaga, Cayuga, Oswego, Oneida, Madison, Herkimer, Jefferson, St. Lawrence and Lewis. The Mary Nelson Youth Center will hold its annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway at 1 p.m. Nov. 22.

The Mary Nelson Youth/Resource Center will hold a Grand Re-0pening from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 23. The community is welcome to stop in and tour the newly remodeled resource center. Food and beverages will be served. The center will reopen to the public on Nov. 29.

The Liverpool Turkey Trot is planning for an in-person race this Thanksgiving day, Nov. 25. This 5K and 5 mile run features bagpipes, additional music and a dog walk. Registration for the run helps support the CNY Food Bank, Clear Path for Veterans, the Q-Center, career and technical education and local educational groups.

Syracuse will return with an in-person “Home for the Holidays” tree lighting the day after Thanksgiving in Clinton Square. The 42-foot tall tree will be a focal point in downtown for the holiday season.
