100 Black Men of Syracuse, as an organization that serves youth from neighborhoods where the lead crisis is considered most severe, is joining others in sounding the alarm about childhood lead poisoning by co-hosting, with Black Nurses Rock Syracuse, a one-hour, public forum on the subject at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28.

This dynamic two-part workshop examines both traditional and digital marketing methods to maximize your customer reach and retention. The morning session will show you how to fine tune your marketing goals and how to develop plans. The afternoon session highlights the value of social media and outlines effective ways to reach your customers on digital platforms. Topics covered include: What's a marketing plan, metrics and measures to track the progress of your plan, what to expect from social media in 2019, find the key to social media success and how to leverage video online. Syracuse Black Birth Workers will lead a writing workshop about black birth stories as a form of reproductive justice. Participants are invited to write their stories using multiple formats including poetry, memoir, fiction and song. A limited supply of writing journals will be provided. In honor of Black History Month, Paine will screen the film "42," the inspiring story of Jackie Robinson, the first African-American to play for a Major League baseball team. Snacks provided.
