Join the Central New York Community Foundation for a virtual update on the community's recent work to raise and distribute vital funding in Central New York to support nonprofit organizations working with those who are disproportionately impacted by economic consequences of the coronavirus pandemic. This virtual gathering will include a short presentation and time for our speakers to answer your questions, which may be submitted in advance. Discussion points will include: What has been done so far and what has been learned; perspectives on the current environment for nonprofits and residents; next steps and emerging trends, and how you can help. Presenters are: Peter Dunn, president & CEO of CNYCF; Frank Ridzi, VP of community investment at CNYCF; Nan Eaton, president at United Way of Central New York, and Sharon Owens, Deputy Mayor of Syracuse.
Onondaga County is offering mobile testing at various locations for so anyone can get a COVID-19 test. Testing will be offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, June 5, at PSLA at Fowler High School. To register, visit https://covid19.ongov.net/appointments/ or call (315) 435-8800.

The Syracuse Chapter of the NAACP will hold a mask, gloves and hand sanitizer giveaway from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 6, at three locations in Syracuse: The Dunbar Center, 1453 S. State St.; The Northeast Community Center, 716 Hawley Ave., and The Spanish Action League, 700 Oswego St.
The event will be held outdoors, rain or shine, while supplies last.

All welcome to this food giveaway. All food is provided on a first come, first serve basis. Single boxes of food are provided per registrant with proof of address. This allows for those clients that are present (meaning onsite) that carpool together to the giveaways, to register as differing households and produce proof of differing addresses to receive more than one box per car. Stewardship day to launch the use of the new 80V electric mower, sheet mulch around the raised beds, manage trash, cleavers, bindweed, prune berry bushes and canes, organize other infrastructure such as fencing and signage. Volunteers welcome.

There will be a committee meeting of the Neighborhood Preservation (Homeless & Housing Vulnerable) Committee at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 10. This meeting will be held via WebEx.
The purpose of this meeting is to gather relevant information and public input on the proposed amendment to the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Syracuse, Chapter 54, entitled “Lead Abatement and Control," amending to allow Code Enforcement to test and properly cite appropriate violations of the presence of lead in dwelling units.
