Seeds for the Arts the Brady Faith Center is facilitating an evening of music at St. Lucy’s Church. Participants will include local musicians, Brady and St. Lucy's musicians and Seeds for the Arts students. Donation of $10 at the door.

Syracuse Black Birth Workers will lead a writing workshop about black birth stories as a form of reproductive justice. Participants are invited to write their stories using multiple formats including poetry, memoir, fiction and song. A limited supply of writing journals will be provided. In honor of Black History Month, Paine will screen the film "42," the inspiring story of Jackie Robinson, the first African-American to play for a Major League baseball team. Snacks provided. Seating will be available, but interested attendees are encouraged to bring a comfy blanket and/or bean bag to better enjoy the film.

The next Southside TNT meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at Danforth Magnet Middle School, 309 W. Brighton Ave. Lanessa Chaplin with the New York Civil Liberties Union will be providing an update regarding the I-81 project.

The Volunteer Lawyers Project of Onondaga County will present a program on residential rental rights and responsibilities. A landlord/tenant court attorney will be on hand with basic information appropriate for both landlords and tenants. A Q&A time will follow. The Equity in Education task force with the Alliance of Communities Transforming Syracuse (ACTS) continues to focus its attention on research and discussion around issues of integration and concerns in the Syracuse City School District and surrounding districts. Task force members also continue to explore the issues of poverty and integration in local schools. Aurora of CNY will offer free vision screenings for seniors 55 and older from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, in the library's auditorium.
