Tucker Missionary Baptist Church will host a Day of Service - "Tying Knots of Love" - to make blankets from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall. All are welcome.

The Tucker Missionary Baptist Church says MLK Day is not a day off but a "day on." The church will host a celebration to honor the life of Martin Luther King Jr. at noon Monday, Jan. 20, with a service delivered by Guest Preacher the Rev. Daren C. Jamie of People's AME Zion Church.

Syracuse University will host the 35th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at the Carrier Dome. Civil Rights leader the Rev. Raphael Warnock, senior pastor of the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, the spiritual home of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., will serve as the featured speaker. Tickets for the dinner and program are now available to purchase. This annual event at SU is the largest of its kind on a college campus and seeks to honor the message and mission of Dr. King.
