The Hip Hop Nutcracker

The Hip Hop Nutcracker will perform one show in Syracuse at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at the Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater, 411 Montgomery St. Directed and choreographed by Jennifer Weber, this remixed production of Tchaikovsky’s classic music is performed by a cast of a dozen all-star dancers, a DJ, a violinist and MC Kurtis Blow, one of Hip Hop’s founding fathers. Public Meeting for Draft Scoping Document for ReZone Syracuse Project

A public meeting on the Draft Scoping document for ReZone Syracuse will be held 6 p.m. Jan. 7, in the Common Council Chambers in City Hall. This meeting will provide the public an opportunity to comment on the document prepared for the project under the SEQR process.  After the comment period is closed, the project team will compile all of the comments received, and prepare a Final Scoping document for the Syracuse Common Council’s review and acceptance. This Final Scoping document will identify the issues to be addressed in the subsequent preparation of the DGEIS.

Organizational Meeting of the Common Council

An organization meeting of the city of Syracuse's Common Council will be held at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, in the Common Council Chambers for the purpose of considering: Election of City Clerk, Election of President Pro-Tempore, Election of Majority Leader, Election of Minority Leader and Election of Majority Whip. Also, Common Council President Helen Hudson to adopt Rules of Procedure of the Syracuse Common Council for 2020-2021 and appoint the Standing Committee of the Syracuse Common Council, and the City Clerk will designate The Syracuse Post-Standard as the official newspaper for the city of Syracuse for the publication of legal notices during 2020-2021.
