Onondaga Historical Association Presents the Play ‘Salt City Abolitionists’

All are welcome to the free staging of the play "Salt City Abolitionists" with characters the Rev. Samuel May and Caroline Loguen. Syracuse was a center of abolitionism in the 19th Century and was watched by the entire country. Join two of the Salt City’s crusaders for freedom, the Rev. Samuel May (of the May Memorial Church) and Caroline Loguen (who with her husband, the Rev. Jermaine Loguen, assisted many on their way to freedom). Learn about, and become part of, an antislavery meeting of the day. "Salt City Abolitionists" is a play written by the Onondaga Historical Association.

Class on Caring for Individuals with Vision/Hearing Impairments

A class for those who currently care for older or disabled persons or may become caregivers in the future will be offered by Aurora of CNY from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, at its office. This class is open to the public as an educational forum to explore the challenges of living with or caring for those with vision and/or hearing impairments; the class will include assistive device demonstration, discussion of Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma and Diabetic Retinopathy as well as a question and answer session. Eighth Annual Bird Houses for Fair Housing Auction & Fundraiser

CNY Fair Housing will hosts its Eighth Annual Bird Houses for Fair Housing Auction & Fundraiser April 4 at the SKY Armory. Evening will feature bidding wars on uniquely made birdhouses designed and decorated by local artists, organization and celebrities and bird themed cocktails. A cocktails and hors d’oeuvres reception will start at 5:30 p.m. followed by the live auction at 6:30 p.m.
