The Reformed Presbyterian Church held its annual Children’s Christmas Party Saturday, Dec. 12.
The church, located at 2517 S. Salina St., was festively decorated for the event, with stars hanging from the ceiling along with small white Christmas lights.
According to Debbi Wellman, the church’s coordinator of Children’s Ministries, the goal of the event was “to reach into the neighborhood and show that our doors are open.”
The main portion of the party was a Christmas program featuring singing, a skit about the baby Jesus’ birth and a lesson tied into the gospel. In addition there was a pizza and juice lunch and craft activities, including cookie decorating.
The turn out for the event, within the church’s expectations, was good. Volunteers and children all seemed to enjoy themselves.
“It’s been very exciting,” Wellman said.
