Volunteer tutors spend at least one hour weekly reading, writing and talking with students in kindergarten to third grade at Syracuse city schools. A training to become a Syracuse City School District tutor through the Oasis program will be held from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the Syracuse Teacher Center, 1005 W.
