Citizen Preparedness Workshop

Central Library 447 S. Salina St., Syracuse

 The New York State Preparedness Course is a free program designed to prepare citizens for all types of disasters. Initiated by the Governor and supported by the Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Services and the Office of Emergency Management, the program is intended to give citizens the education needed to be able to take care of themselves and their neighbors in case of a crisis. No registration necessary. Meets in the Community Room on Level 1 of Central Library. For more information, call the library at (315) 435-1900.

Get Out the Vote Rally

This family-friendly event will be free and open to the public and held in an effort to empower the community to exercise their right to vote. Event is sponsored by Onondaga Votes! Coalition, League of Women Voters, TNT Southside, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Lambda Kappa Mu Sorority, Zata Phi Beta Sorority and the Dunbar Association. For more information, call (315) 416-4042.

2019 Global Ambassador’s Summit

Salt of the Earth Ministries 320 W Onondaga St., Syracuse

Syracuse Salt of the Earth Ministries will host the 2019 Global Ambassador's Summit "A National Gathering for Global Impact" Friday and Saturday, Sept. 27 and 28. The summit will begin at 7 p.m. nightly and include a 10 a.m. Saturday workshop. Featured guests include Dr. Stephen Paul, senior pastor at Life Changing Revival Centre; Pastor Jordan Carter with Abundant Life Christian Center; Bishop Carl Clark, president and founder of Open Arms International Ministries, and music by Davie Kitandwe, Rickey Montgomery Jr. and Victor Olayeni. The international worship concert begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28. A $5 donation is asked. The host is Kingdom Ambassador Frankie Jackson with Salt of the Earth Ministries.
