100 Black Men of Syracuse, as an organization that serves youth from neighborhoods where the lead crisis is considered most severe, is joining others in sounding the alarm about childhood lead poisoning by co-hosting, with Black Nurses Rock Syracuse, a one-hour, public forum on the subject at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28.

Artist Art Brangman will utilize his artwork to provide a historical exploration of African-American heritage, urging attendees to begin the process of closure so healing can begin. The Alliance of Communities Transforming Syracuse (ACTS) Race Matters Book Club will discuss "Our Kids: The American Dream in Crisis" by Robert D. Putnam Monday, Feb. 25, at Pebble Hill Presbyterian Church.
