A fund-raising event to honor members of the Syracuse community who are champions of diversity will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown, 100 E. Onondaga St. This year the honorees include: Community Service Award — Evelyn Carter, director of community relations for Wegmans; Unsung Hero — Mary Beth Basha, senior consumer advocate for National Grid, and the Corporate Commitment Award — CXtec. Partnership for Onondaga Creek will hold a public community meeting at 6 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Brady Faith Center, 404 South Ave. Residents are welcome to join the Partnership during their monthly community meetings to help work toward environmental, social and economic justice in Syracuse.

The Onondaga County CA$H Coalition will hold an informational meeting at 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, in the Rosamond Gifford Room on the lower level of the United Way offices at 518 James St. This meeting is open to the public and will provide information about the services provided by the CA$H Coalition and its members, and how you can get involved. Topics will include outreach for VITA free tax preparation services and expanding the coalition's financial education activities. An I-81 Viaduct Project Open House will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at The Oncenter, 800 S.
