South Side TNT Meeting

Frank Kobliski, executive director with Centro, and Steve Koegel, vice president of marketing & communications for Centro, will visit the Sept. 14 Tomorrow's Neighborhoods Today meeting at 6 p.m. at the South Side Innovation Center. Information will be offered on recent advocacy activities within the group's service area. The TNT Area 3 Planning Council meets regularly on the 1st Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at South Side Innovation Center, 2610 S. Salina Street. CRB Community Outreach

The Citizen Review Board (CRB) of Syracuse is a city agency which conducts fair and independent investigations in response to complaints filed against members of the Syracuse Police Department and makes policy and disciplinary recommendations to the SPD. The CRB will host a series of community outreach and education events. Events will provide the public with information on the CRB process and the role of the CRB in the community. There will also be a discussion on how to safely interact with police officers in which the CRB will provide recommendations on how to increase the likelihood that an interaction with police goes as smoothly as possible.

Passport to Health: India

Crouse Hospital’s Spirit of Women program continues its journey to good health with an Indian-themed getaway from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at Drumlins Country Club. This latest Passport to Health event provides a relaxed setting that encourages women to care for their wellbeing, with this program being held during Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month. A feature of the evening is a presentation led by Mary Cunningham, MD, Crouse GYN oncology surgeon. She will explain the latest information related to GYN cancer prevention, detection and treatment, followed by a question and answer session. The event also includes authentic Indian food, music and dance, and guests can also enjoy henna tattoos, yoga and meditation instruction and a fun photo booth. F.O.C.U.S. Forum: Public Safety Through Technology and the Environment

A F.O.C.U.S. Forum on "Public Safety Through Technology and the Environment" will be held from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at City Hall Commons on the first floor. The guest presenter will be Frank Fowler, Syracuse Chief of Police. Fowler will discuss how new technology and changes in the environment work to make a safe community.
