Joanne and Diane Shenandoah along with Joe Driscoll will come together for a musical fundraiser to benefit Joanne's medical expenses. A tax deductible donation of $20 is suggested. Concert will also include raffles and artwork for sale. 

Imani Winds

Imani Winds, a  wind quintet, will perform newly-commissioned music and culturally-diverse works penned by its own members. Tickets are $25 regular, $20 seniors (65 and older), $15 under age 30, free for full-time students and holders of EBT/SNAP cards. Tickets available online or can be purchased at the door.

Moving People Transportation Coalition will present a session on how the Community Grid will improve “traffic flow” for Syracuse drivers. Tuesday, May 8, in the Common Council Chambers, third floor, City Hall. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the possibility of implementing Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) in Syracuse.

Senior Celebration Luncheon

The Celebration Luncheon for Onondaga County Seniors is set for Thursday, May 10, at Drumlins Country Club. Program and Luncheon start promptly at noon. This event: Celebrates National “Older Americans Month,” which is every May; Honors Onondaga County Residents, and Provides a Delicious Lunch: Chicken Breast Milanaise or Vegetable Lasagna.

This year's honorees are: Senior Citizen of the Year – Dorothy L. White; Serving Seniors Honorees of the Year - Merriette Chance Pollard, Dunbar Center, and Brian Evans, Sr., Senior Companion Program with Interfaith Works & PACE CNY, and Flanders Memorial Caregiver of the Year - Mary Anne Barth.

Seniors, age 60 or older, and their guests, must register by Friday May 4. The meal cost is $5 and has been kept to a minimum due to the generosity of local contributors. Guests are encouraged to register early as seating is limited. Checks can be made payable to Onondaga County Elders, Inc. and should accompany the registration form.
