The Central New York LGBTQ Child Welfare Coalition is holding a “Foster Care & Adoption Information Session for LGBTQ People” from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Q Center at 617 W. Genesee St. Come to this free event to learn more about the foster care and adoption process in an LGBTQ-affirming setting.
The 2015 Winston Gaskin Walk for Wellness and Stroke Prevention will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, at Upper Onondaga Park in Syracuse. The walk is scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m., with registration from 8:30 to 9 a.m., at the park, bounded by Roberts Avenue, Crossett Street and Onondaga Avenue. There is a $10 event registration fee for adults that includes a walk T-shirt. All funds raised at the event benefit health and wellness programs provided by 100 Black Men of Syracuse, Inc. Bus Rabid Transit will be explored at a Community Forum set for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 29, at the Onondaga Free Library, 4840 W. Seneca Turnpike. This session will be the 11th in a series hosted by the Moving People Transportation Coalition. These discussions are based on critical concerns about the future of transportation in our community.
