Asian Elephant Extravaganza will be held from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at the zoo. Event is free with paid admission or zoo membership. Celebrate Asian culture and honor the zoo’s magnificent Asian elephants. Enjoy elephant demonstrations, keeper talks, cultural performances, games and activity stations for all ages.

A free Back to School & Community Celebration will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at Skiddy Park, sponsored by REACH Community Relief International. The following community organizations will also be on site to register students for free youth programming offered throughout the community: YWCA Girl’s Inc,./STYA (Successfully Transitioning Youth to Adolescence), Catholic Charities – Vincent House, Pretty Girls Rock, Saturday Academy with 100 Black Men of Syracuse, Delta Youth Initiatives, Le Moyne College Upward Bound and Mercy Works (iCan Robotics Program, Teen Tech, SYNERGY, Passport 2 Vision, Vision Velocity). This event is open for the entire community.
