The Onondaga County Chess Championship will be held Sunday, March 6, at Southside Academy Charter School, 2200 Onondaga Creek Blvd. Registration begins at noon. Entry fee is $10 early or $15 at the door; refreshments will be sold during the competitions. Students and school teams in grades K-12 will play 4 rounds of chess to win trophies and medals. First round begins at 12:30 p.m. School teams require a minimum of two players in one age group: K-4, K-6 or K-12. Students must be with an adult. A South Side Tomorrow's Neighborhoods Today community meeting will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 7, at the South Side Innovation Center. The agenda includes: time to hear issues for city departments, presentations by the HEOP College Education program and of a pilot afterschool program, and discussion on special project proposals.

Believe in Syracuse Organizational Meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at the South Side Innovation Center, 2610 S. A Nutrition & Health Expo for Seniors will be held 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 19, at the CNY Regional Market “F” Shed (indoors and heated).
