The Syracuse City Redistricting Commission (SCRC) recently began its work on proposing new district lines for the city of Syracuse. Several meetings have been scheduled to provide opportunities for residents to ask questions as well as provide input and information on their desires regarding political boundaries.

Opening Reception: ‘From Where We Stand: Photographs from The Stand’s Annual South Side Photo Walk’

The annual summer Photo Walk is The Stand Newspaper's largest community event, bringing together photographers of all skill levels and ages to explore the South Side, take photos and practice their skills. This exhibition features 51 photographs taken by 46 photographers during this event throughout its 12-year history and is a visual testament to the struggles and resiliency of the neighborhood.

Elder Fraud Seminar

DeWitt Town Hall 5400 Butternut Dr., East Syracuse, NY, United States

Residents in California, Texas, Florida and New York filed the largest number of fraud complaints by older Americans. An FBI Special Agent, as well as representatives from the U.S. Attorney’s office, will give a presentation on how to better protect seniors from falling victim to fraud. The presentation will teach attendees how to recognize potential criminal schemes, what to do if you or a loved one has fallen victim to a fraudulent scam and where to go for additional information. Light refreshments will be provided. Seminars will be held in the Activity Room at the DeWitt Town Hall.

This year's 100 Black Men of Syracuse’s annual gala theme is “Be the difference, Change is in our hands. The event — returning to in-person after two years — will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, April 8, at The Lodge, 4355 State St. in Skaneateles Falls. Proceeds from the event goes to support the
organization’s mentoring, education, health and wellness and economic

Spring Fling
