South Side Five-Year Planning Workshop

The planning workshops organized by Tomorrow's Neighborhoods Today will analyze the conditions of the neighborhood, identify neighborhood assets and challenges and then provide goals and recommendations — followed by an action plan. These workshops are designed to bring together members of the community to assess physical, economic, social and perceptual conditions, and to create a shared vision for the entire South Side. The third and final workshop will be held July 25. Its focus is on "How to achieve the desired future for the South Side" and will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the South Side Innovation Center, 2610 S. Salina St.

Youth parade begins at 11 a.m. Backpacks filled with school supplies to each registered youth will be distributed. There will be live entertainment, informational tables and food.
