Poetry and Drawing Contest and Workshop

Poems and black & white drawings will be created on site based on a theme. Poets and artists will be encouraged to talk about their creation and the theme. Final selection of winners will be selected by the general public at the Betts Branch Library on May 6th. Winning poems and drawings will appear inside Centro buses. Workshop providers: Martin Willitts (poetry) and Michael Sickler (drawings).

A Human Library is a way for people to reach out and connect with individuals in their community with whom they might not normally interact. Visitors to the library have an opportunity during the event to borrow and engage in conversation with a Human Book. These events promote tolerance, celebrate differences and encourage understanding of people who come from varied cultural or lifestyle backgrounds.
