2017 Health and Wellness Lecture: ‘Stroke’

100 Black Men of Syracuse, Inc. in collaboration with Black Nurses Rock of Syracuse to host the 2017 Health and Wellness Lecture Series. The June lecture will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, June 26, at the South Side Innovation Center. The speaker will be Dr. Eric Deshaies, Crouse Hospital, speaking on the topic of "Stroke." The McCarthy's will perform a family-friendly concert that includes a mix of popular favorites as well as songs from Deirdre's native Ireland. Stages of Grieving

The Stages of Grieving Workshop will explore three stages of grieving: Anticipatory Grief, Grief and New Beginnings (how to move on from grief). Although each person experiences grief in their own way, there are universal messages all share. For those who have a loved one with dementia, the
grieving process often begins long before the person has actually passed away. Participants will have an opportunity to look at ways we all process grief as well as discussing their own experiences.
