In Destination: INSPIRATION, kids don't just WATCH the show – they JOIN IN! Children take part in a madcap, interACTIVE adventure in which they create characters, choose settings and steer the plot. Award-winning author Jason Edwards guides the production and acts out the story, while supplying loads of prompts, hints, encouragement, funny props and slapstick humor. No registration required; all ages welcome. This program will meet in the first-floor Community Room.

Audacity is a tool for storytellers and music makers. It can be used to create podcast material, soundtracks, songs, voice-overs or audition material. In this workshop, you will learn how to use the Audacity software to record live audio, find free sound effects and Foley clips, and use editing tools to refine your tracks. Assemble, decorate and launch a rocket. For ages 5 and up.

It’s August. Beat the heat by playing in (virtual) snow, painting with ice and thawing out frozen critters. No registration required; for ages 5 – 12. This program will meet in the second-floor KidSpace.

The Citizen Review Board will hold its monthly meeting starting at 5:30 p.m. The board is a public forum for grievances about the police. Public comment period begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Common Council Chambers at City Hall.

Soul of Syracuse: Taste of the Southside Cultural & Arts Festival is scheduled from noon to 7 p.m. Aug. 5 on the 1600 Block of South Salina Street. The event has an initial $3,500 grant from The Leadership Classroom and is seeking additional sponsors.
