A movie will be screened Friday, July 21, at Ward Park. Bring the entire family and friends. Movie begins at dusk so make sure to bring lawn chair and or blanket. Mosquito repellent recommended. Event hosted by Syracuse Salt of the Earth Ministries, which will give out free popcorn and Bibles.

Eighth annual South Side Photo Walk

The Stand's Eighth annual South Side Photo Walk will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 22. Participants will meet at the South Side Innovation Center, 2610 S. Salina St., where the event will open with a photo lesson by professional photographers Kate Collins, who is a photo and video manager at syracuse.com, and Marilu Lopez Fretts, who is a freelance and multimedia photographer (mlfphotography.com). After the walk, all participants will share their photos, and the best shots will be published in the September print issue of The Stand. This event is free and open to all ages of any skill level. Movies Under the Stars

Light of Syracuse, Inc. will host three free Friday movie nights in July: July 7, 21 and 28 (raindates set for July 13 and 27 and Aug. 3). All movies are family-friendly and the featured films will include: "Beauty and the Beast," "Queen of Katwe" and "Jungle Book."
