The Kwanzaa Village CommUnity garden is in need of 40-50 community members' assistance Saturday, June 2, to finish and create beds, assist with sheet mulching and wood chips, creating a pathway with slab stone, assemble and install arbors(3), create landscape beds, install flowers and mulch. Youth participation is encouraged. The garden and green space is located at 920 Midland Ave. and the corner of Furman. Southside TNT Meeting

The next Southside TNT meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, June 4, at the South Side Innovation Center. Presenters will include: Aggie Lane and Andrew Coon with UJTF and Legal Services discussing the racial equity impact statement and petition regarding jobs on the I-81 viaduct project; Angela Wright with SMNC presenting conceptual drawings for the Southside Café, and Pam Brunet with Leadership Greater Syracuse who will provide a brief overview of the civic engagement training programs offered in Syracuse. There will be no July meeting due to the holiday.

Duck Race to End Racism

The entire community is invited to join in this free celebration featuring live entertainment, an educational area, a culturally diverse food court, the Dr. Henry A. Washington Health Pavilion, exhibits and more.
