‘THE STAND :: 10 Years in Print’ gallery reception

Syracuse’s only community newspaper to cover the city’s South Side, will celebrate 10 years in print on March 8. To mark this milestone, a selection of images from The 10th Annual South Side Photo Walk held July 2019 along with a collection of 10 images from the past decade will be on display at The Link Gallery.

The gallery show, THE STAND :: 10 Years in Print, may be viewed during the month of March and coincides with The Stand’s March Anniversary print issue. The exhibit will be up from March 1 through March 31 at The Link Gallery. Gallery hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. A free, public reception for the show will be held.

Veteran Assistance from Easterseals NY

Soldering and Basic Manufacturing

Learn the skills that can help you get a job in the manufacturing field. A certified instructor will teach soldering skills as well as important safety information for the manufacturing workplace. Attendees will also learn techniques for crafting one's resume and interviewing that will make employers more likely to hire. Participants who complete all four sessions will have the opportunity to interview for employment with a local manufacturer. Registration is required. Classes are limited to 10. Thursday Morning Roundtable

The 2019-20 season will continue at 8 a.m. each Thursday in March in a new location, Room 016 in the Nancy Cantor Warehouse. The room is directly off of the Fayette Street entrance or a short walk down the stairs or elevator ride from the Washington Street entrance. March 12 will welcome Dr. Indu Gupta, commissioner of health at the Onondaga County Health Department and Dr. Karen Nardella, medical director, Syracuse University Health Services, will speak about infectious disease and the importance of their work and collaborations.
