An open house for students entering first and second grades to learn more about the Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary School will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. March 15. SAS is a tuition-free public charter school open to all Central New York students. She school provides student meals, small class sizes, with two teachers for the younger grades. Residents in California, Texas, Florida and New York filed the largest number of fraud complaints by older Americans. An FBI Special Agent, as well as representatives from the U.S. Attorney’s office, will give a presentation on how to better protect seniors from falling victim to fraud. The presentation will teach attendees how to recognize potential criminal schemes, what to do if you or a loved one has fallen victim to a fraudulent scam and where to go for additional information. Light refreshments will be provided. Seminars will be held in the Activity Room at the DeWitt Town Hall.
