South Side Photo Walk

South Side Innovation Center 2610 S. Salina St., Syracuse, NY, United States

The Stand annual South Side Photo Walk will be held Saturday, July 18, beginning at 10 a.m. at the South Side Innovation Center. A Photo Walk is a social photography event where photographers get together to explore a neighborhood, shoot photos and practice their skills. Participants will follow a path through the South Side, leaving from the South Side Innovation Center. Attendees will take photos of the neighborhood and neighbors along the way. The event will open with a short lesson by professional photographer and multimedia producer Marilu Lopez Fretts. After the walk, participants will share their photos with the group and receive feedback. The day's best shots will be printed in the September issue of The Stand. Parkinson’s Presentation

The Onondaga County Department of Adult and Long Term Care Services, Office for Aging will offer a free Parkinson’s Presentation by Dr. Dragos Mihaila, Neurologist with Upstate Medical University, at 6 p.m. July 23 at The Hearth at Greenpoint. The presentation, which is open to the public, will be on Deep Brain Stimulation, a surgical procedure used to treat a variety of disabling neurological symptoms, most commonly those of Parkinson’s disease, such as: Tremor, Rigidity, Stiffness, Fatigue, Slowed Movement, Walking Problems. Outdoor Film: ‘Get On Up’

Public Meeting on Sale of W. Kennedy Site
