The city of Syracuse Division of Code Enforcement's Healthy Housing 101 event is an educational event for the entire community. Code inspectors will lead tours throughout a Greater Syracuse Land Bank property to point out the various code violations that may cause unhealthy or unsafe living conditions. The goal of the event is to educate the community on the Code Enforcement process and how to address violations to keep community living conditions safe and healthy. The Light A Candle for Literacy Parade and Children’s Book Festival will begin with a celebratory procession, followed by a festival designed to promote literacy and community.
