Gather: A Community Foraging Panel

Join the Syracuse Urban Food Forest for a community conversation around foraging at the Salt City Community Room. Panelists will give brief presentations about their different interests in foraging, and then Cimone Jordan, planner for the Department of Neighborhood and Business Development, will moderate a Q&A.

Fresh Food Friday

Each Friday, Project S.O.U.L. (Southside Organizing Urban Lives) will provide fresh foods for South Side residents in need of food assistance. A free box of food will be provided. Boxes are limited to one per household and distributed while supplies last. There is no income requirement but identification is required. Shop Syracuse's Black-owned businesses with the Urban Market Space pop-ups. Vendors with art, clothing, haircare and more will be in the market from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each Thursday and from 5 to 8 p.m. each Friday in November (except for the week of Thanksgiving).

Letterpress Greeting Card Workshop

Virtual Vigil for Transgender Day of Remembrance

The Q Center at ACR Health will host a virtual vigil providing support and understanding for Anti-Transgender violence exhibited in 2021. This virtual vigil will serve the nine-county service areas which include Onondaga, Cayuga, Oswego, Oneida, Madison, Herkimer, Jefferson, St. Lawrence and Lewis. Mary Nelson Center Grand Re-Opening

The Mary Nelson Youth/Resource Center will hold a Grand Re-0pening from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 23. The community is welcome to stop in and tour the newly remodeled resource center. Food and beverages will be served. The center will reopen to the public on Nov. 29.

Liverpool Turkey Trot

The Liverpool Turkey Trot is planning for an in-person race this Thanksgiving day, Nov. 25. This 5K and 5 mile run features bagpipes, additional music and a dog walk. Registration for the run helps support the CNY Food Bank, Clear Path for Veterans, the Q-Center, career and technical education and local educational groups.

Syracuse Tree Lighting
