Each Wednesday, Project S.O.U.L. (Southside Organizing Urban Lives) will hold a food pantry for South Side residents in need of food assistance. A free box of food will be provided. Boxes are limited to one per household and distributed while supplies last. There is no income requirement but identification is required. Tick Bite Prevention Virtual Workshop

A fall tick bite prevention virtual workshop will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, via Webex. Residents are encouraged to attend to learn more about how to reduce the possibility of tick bites through personal protection, habitat management and cultural controls. The program will also provide information on the types of ticks that exist in Central New York and preferred habitats. The workshop is free and pre-registration is not required. It is offered by the city of Syracuse in cooperation with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County.
