Meeting of the Minds: Minority Business Networking Event will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Nikao Eventz & Catering, 128 Burnet Ave. Cost to attend is $10. Walter Dixie will host a community event for residents to hear from all local candidates running for public office this coming November. The session will begin at 6 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Southwest Community Center.
