Syracuse Gun Buyback

A Gun Buyback will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at St. Lucy’s Food Pantry, 425 Gifford St. Those who return hand guns assault rifles and other firearms under the amnesty program will be eligible to receive a financial payment in the form of a pre-paid gift card. The following types of firearms will be accepted at the following rates: Assault Rifle – $300, Handgun – $150, Rifle or Shotgun – $75, Non-working, replica or antique gun – $25. Additional gift card may be available for ghost gun or non-serialized guns.No identification is needed to turn in a firearm and no questions are asked of persons dropping off firearms. Weapons returned must be unloaded and placed in a box or plastic or paper bag. Individuals can surrender as many firearms as they wish to provide. Licensed gun dealers and active or retired law enforcement officers are not eligible for the program.The program is hosted by the Office of New York State Attorney General Letitia James.
