Public Forum on Childhood Lead Poisoning
January 28, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Free100 Black Men of Syracuse, as an organization that serves youth from neighborhoods where the lead crisis is considered most severe, is joining others in sounding the alarm about childhood lead poisoning by co-hosting, with Black Nurses Rock Syracuse, a one-hour, public forum on the subject at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28.
Paul Ciavarri, lead organizer for the Syracuse-based Campaign to End Childhood Lead Poisoning by 2025, and Jaime Howley, co-chair of the TNT Southside’s housing taskforce, will address the crisis at the forum, which will be held at the South Side Innovation Center, 2610 S. Salina St. in Syracuse. The discussion will immediately follow a one-hour presentation, “Home Ownership,” at 5:30 p.m. led by Cal Corriders, a mortgage loan originator for Pathfinder Bank.
Both presentations will be held Jan. 28 at the South Side Innovation Center and are part of “4th Mondays,” a new, monthly 2-for-1 personal finance and wellness series that continues through June and is presented by 100 Black Men of Syracuse.
