Onondaga Creekwalk Phase II Meeting

February 28, 2015 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

The City of Syracuse is working through preliminary design to develop a project to expand the existing Onondaga Creekwalk. The Creekwalk Phase II Project involves constructing a continuous pedestrian/bicycle trial that will extend the existing Creekwalk within the Onondaga Creek Corridor, from Armory Square south 2.2 miles to West Colvin Street. The Creekwalk Phase II feasibility study identified two feasible alternative routes, along with associated environmental constraints, permitting, right-of-way acquisitions, economic benefits and estimated construction costs. The purpose of this meeting is to review these alternatives, learn about the project schedule, and solicit the community’s thoughts and concerns. Community input is key. The city is offering three initial meetings that focus on a discussion of the follow neighborhoods. 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25 for Colvin Street to Bellevue Avenue/Blaine Street to be held at the Seals Community Center at Kirk Park. The second meeting will focus on Bellevue Avenue/Blaine Street to Onondaga Street/Adams Street and will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at the Southwest Community Center, and the third meeting will be for Onondaga Street/Adams Street to West Jefferson Street and held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 4 at the MOST. The city suggests residents attend meetings planned for the area you live in, but all are welcome to attend any meeting.
