Postal Service Short-Term Hiring Workshop

The U.S. Postal Service offers short-term work during the holidays. These casual mail handlers work indoors at the Syracuse mail processing plant. These positions are designed for people looking to earn extra money during the holiday season. A hiring workshop will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Syracuse plant, 5640 E. Note, no one under the age of 18 will be allowed in the building during the training. Requirements for the position include: 18 years of age at time of appointment; U.S. citizen or permanent resident; ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screen and medical assessment, and registered with the selective service (if applicable). The work period will start Nov. 9 and end Jan. 3, 2020. Candidates must be available to work evenings, weekends and long shifts. Starting pay is $18 per hour.
