Volunteers Needed at Mary Nelson's Youth Center

Mary Nelson is in need of some help for her youth center. If interested in sparing a few hours to volunteer at the center, please contact Mary at (315) 403-0220  or e-mail NelsonM@upstate.edu.

The number of youth and family attendance has greatly increased, according to Nelson. So the center is in need of help for its afterschool programs and Saturday morning programs.

Retired teachers and someone with computer skills to teach basic use of the computer is especially needed.

Also, if you have ideas for the center, Nelson is interested to hear suggestions and to add new programing the community wants to see. Nelson says she would like to have a GED class, and is in need of someone who is willing to come in and help prepare and teach.  Other ideas are for an Arts & Crafts Sewing Class, a Cooking Class, Parenting Classes, Continuing Education and a Financial Class.

If you have any questions, please contact Mary Nelson at (315) 403-0220  or e-mail NelsonM@upstate.edu.
