The Stand’s February Issue continues our Couples in Love series, spotlighting couples Paula Johnson and Shantanette Patrice-Johnson along with life-long South Siders Patrona Jones-Rowser and Sam Rowser.

Continuing the love theme, music columnist Reggie Seigler highlights local married musicians.

Each feature shares how these couples have made in through the pandemic, together.

Additional stories look at how local nonprofits have pivoted to meet the needs of residents during the pandemic, South Sider Julius Lawrence shares a poem about COVID-19 and The Stand’s Director updates readers about local pop up COVID-19 vaccination sites. Readers will also learn about plans for a new supermarket to move into the former NoJaim’s location on the Southwest Side of the city and local funding for community projects.
