The ninth annual South Side Photo Walk will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 28. A Photo Walk is a social photography event where photographers get together to explore a neighborhood, shoot photos and practice their skills.
This year’s walk will meet at the Eat to Live Food Cooperative, 2323 S. Salina St.
Event will open with a photo lesson by professional photographers followed by a walk through the neighborhood to capture a typical day on the South Side.
After the walk, all participants will share their photos, and the best shots will be published in the September print issue of The Stand. Additionally, images will be included in a future photo exhibition.
Cost for this event is free and open to all ages of any skill level.
A limited number of cameras are available for loan. To request to borrow a camera, contact Ashley Kang via email at ashley@mysouthsidestand.com or call (315) 882-1054. RSVP for the event on the Facebook Event Page.
This year’s Photo Walk received additional funding thanks to the Finding Common Ground grant and the Robert Bosch Foundation.
