Our April Print Issue features a profile on Patrice Williams, a Corcoran track start known as “The Silent Bullet.”
The issue also reflects on the contributions of our late board member John A. Young, who passed away at the end of February. He joined the board shortly after our initial launch party in 2010 and was an active member supporting our community newspaper.
Also in the issue read a special guest column by youth from Pretty Girls Rock about bullying, hear updates on expansion plans for the Mary Nelson Youth Center and get to know Syracuse Grows and Syracuse Community Geography.
The April print issue will be out this weekend or you can download a full pdf here.

Join Us in Our New Storytelling Series
The staff at The Stand is also gearing up for a new summer storytelling series because we believe that each of us has a compelling story to tell.
The mission of our new Family Storytelling Series is to spotlight family life in Syracuse’s Salt City. The project will train participating families on how to use digital cameras and storytelling techniques, allowing them to tell their own story over the summer. We will begin at the end of May and run through July.
If you would like to know more or nominate your family, please contact The Stand’s Director Ashley Kang at ashley@mysouthsidestand.com or by calling (315) 882-1054.
The deadline to apply is April 15th.
