The South Side Initiative Office would like to thank Professor Joan Bryant for all of her help and support in the success of the Black History Preservation Project (BHPP) and the recently featured documentary “Syracuse’s 15th Ward and Beyond”
Professor Bryant has supported our efforts in numerous ways.
Prof. Bryant has:
• Conducted oral history training for us
• Secured a $25,500 grant application
• Suggested the BHPP motto: “Your Story is Our History”
• Participated in oral history interviews
• Discussed the grant application and the award at team meetings
• Helped draft a letter to The Post-Standard newspaper
• Offered personal and her own project funds to support the screening
