Scholastic Chess Championship Set for Sunday, March 10

 

The 2013 Onondaga County Scholastic Chess Championship will be held Sunday, March 10, at the Southside Academy Charter School, located at 2200 Onondaga Creek Blvd., Syracuse.

Late Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. to noon. The first round will start at 12:30 p.m. Event is open to students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. The fee to enter is $12 if received by March 9 or $20 at the door.

 

Winners will be presented with trophies & medals for players & school teams. The top five players and three teams in each section (K-4, K-6, K-12) will receive a trophy. Chess Medallions with ribbon will be awarded to all non-trophy winners scoring 2.5 or more points and all kindergartners. Consolation prizes will go to all others.

Note all players must provide their own chess equipment; none provided at site.
