Kwanzaa Community Health Fair and Let’s Move! Campaign to be held Dec. 30, at Beauchamp Branch Library

OnDance at Beauchamp Library is holding its first Kwanzaa Community Health Fair and Let’s Move! Campaign, sponsored in part by SUNY Upstate Medical University, Thursday, Dec. 30 at the library located at 2111 S. Salina St. in Syracuse. The Kwanzaa Community Health Fair will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. and will feature health agencies to answer questions and provide information, giveaways, nutritious snacks, children’s activities and door prizes.

Following the health fair, families can take an Enerjazz class from 6 to 7 p.m. Dance instructor Cheryl Wilkins-Mitchell syncs the enerjazz dance exercise class to First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move Campaign “America’s Move to Raise a Healthier Generation of Kids!”

Following the class, a Question & Answer period about stretching and exercising will conclude the evening’s event.

The events also falls on the fifth day of Kwanzaa “Nia” (meaning Purpose). Thus on this day, the organizers hope all attendees will dedicate themselves to being proactive about their health and start the New Year off on the right foot — with Purpose and being health conscious.
